FAQ's

1 / What should I wear?

You may wear whatever you like; however, we prefer that you NOT wear jeans. Jeans make it harder to visualize the pelvic area. Also, the button and zipper on regular jeans may damage the special 4D probe. Maternity Pants with a belly band are preferred. Most importantly, we want you to be relaxed and comfortable.

2 / What is the difference between the ultrasound images provided?

2D (2-Dimensional) ultrasound is standard black and white ultrasound. They generally use this at your doctors office. With 2D ultrasound you will see the baby’s organs and skeletal system. This is very useful for measurements, seeing and hearing the heartbeat, and detecting abnormalities.

3D (3-Dimensional) ultrasound redirects the sound waves to the surface of your baby! Using 3D ultrasound, you will get a still or static image of your baby.

4D (4-Dimensional) ultrasound is 3D in Real Time. Therefore you are viewing the baby live!  You will be able to visualize facial expressions, yawns, crying, sucking the thumb or toe, hiccups and much more.

HDLive is High Definition 4D!!!! HDLive is unlike anything you have seen in the prenatal imaging industry. HDLive uses a virtual light source to manipulate the 4D image and make it look even more realistic.

3 / How can I get my images?

The cutest ones will be printed out as we go. You can purchase add-ons such as a USB thumb drive or access to an app with your images on them.

4 / What if I have piercings on my belly?

We have a strict no piercing policy. You must remove all piercings from the belly before we scan you. Our special 4D probes cannot make contact with metal, as it may cause damage to the probe.

5 / What if I am late?

You should arrive five to ten minutes before your scheduled appointment. The appointment time we give you is the start time of your scan; therefore, all paperwork and payments should take place a few minutes before. We strive to begin at your scheduled appointment time, so please arrive on time to ensure maximum viewing time allotted.

If you are late this will most likely result in a shorter viewing time. If you miss the entire appointment we will do our best to squeeze you in but there is a chance you’ll have to reschedule.

6 / Should I come with a full bladder?

It is always best to start with a semi-full bladder, as it will fill during the time of the scan. For early pregnancies, the bladder creates a window to better visualize your baby. Later in the pregnancy a full bladder can push the baby up towards your head, making it easier to see. The bladder is a MUCH more important factor in the 1st trimester!

7 / What is the cancellation policy?

If you are unable to attend your appointment please call 48 hours in advance to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

Within 48 hours of your appointment time, cancellations are not allowed.

A no call/no show will NOT be refunded.

8 / Will insurance cover my visit?

No. Our services are strictly elective procedures and cannot take the place of a diagnostic service.

9 / When can I make an appointment?

An appointment can be made at anytime on our website under the Book Now tab. We are open from 8am-5pm Wednesdays through Fridays and 8am-3pm on Saturdays.

We do accept after hour appointment requests for an extra $50. Just call the office to see if we can make it happen for you! We want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy this with you.

10 / When is the best time to receive my 4D ultrasound?

We are happy to have you as early as 10 weeks. However, until about 22 weeks the baby has a skeletal look. Closer to 26 weeks the baby will gain body fat and start to have distinct features. Our suggestion is to come between 26-31 weeks!

The closer you get to your due date, the less room your baby has in your belly. We will try to get the best images possible, but later in the 3rd trimester it is more difficult.

Simply because the baby is smooshed!

11 / Is there any guarantee that my pictures will come out beautiful?

Unfortunately, not… sometimes babies are not in the mood to be photographed, and we can have a difficult time getting clear images of their face. Image quality also depends on the amount of amniotic fluid you have, your size, the baby’s position, and where the placenta is located. We cannot promise that your baby’s pictures will look the same as ones you have previously seen; however, we will always do our best to ensure the highest quality images possible. Luckily, we have some of the best 4D equipment available. Most importantly, only an ARDMS registered tech will be scanning you. If great images are possible, we will get them!

12 / Is there anything I can do to ensure better images?

The most important thing when it comes to image quality is the amount of amniotic fluid around the baby. Be sure to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water (a gallon a day)  in the weeks leading up to your scan. Other things that will affect the clarity of your images is the baby’s position, position of the placenta, and your size.

13 / If I am overweight or obese will I be able to get clear pictures?

If you are overweight you should not be afraid to have a 4D ultrasound; however, we strongly urge that you wait until after 30 weeks gestation to give the baby time to grow. If you are overweight, you will need to have a high level of amniotic fluid to obtain clear images of the baby. If you drink the recommended amount of water in the weeks leading up to your appointment there is no reason we should not be able to obtain great images!

14 / What if I don't want to know the gender?

If you do not wish to know the sex of your baby, please do not be afraid to have a 4D ultrasound. If you inform the technician that you wish to keep the baby’s gender a surprise, they will not scan near the baby’s genitals.
Gender Reveals are extremely popular! If you would like the gender kept a secret, please let the receptionist know. We can place the gender in an envelope for you.

15 / Can I invite my family/friends/kids?

Yes! You can invite up to 12 guests. We want everyone to enjoy this with you. Along with the scanning room, we have a viewing room with extra seating. Children are always welcome as well. We even have a small play area set up in the viewing room that may entertain them.

All of your guests must be on time to your appointment. We will not wait for all of your guests to arrive as it will cut into your scheduled viewing time.

16 / Can we eat, drink, or smoke in the facility?

In order to keep our facility in great condition we do not allow our guests to bring in food.

You may bring in drinks. In fact, we have a coffee bar in the viewing room. We ask that you please be mindful of our facility and clean up after yourselves and your children.

We do not allow smoking inside the facility. You are welcome to smoke outside at your vehicle.
